Yeah I saw some stat that said Zito had thrown 119 curveballs without giving up a hit on any of them. We must be in an alternate universe circa 2001 or something.

Yeah with Andruw I think he's always had the talent but it's about having the will to improve or even care enough to work hard and stay in shape. Some players work like a mad man in the off season and then others are fine just playing off their talent. I think Andruw did that for awhile and when he was younger he could just play off his talent without worrying about putting in the effort physically. Now that he's older he finally realizes (that or now he actually cares) that it will take work in the off season to stay in shape and to improve as a player. You can't live off talent forever.

Pitchers are the worst at this. If I have the chance to make money by being in shape, I'd be the Albert Pujols of physical fitness. Right now, I'm the equivalent of JaMarcus Russell.
