HR Derby 2009

Well first round is finally over in the HR derby and Cruz getting his name out there to other people besides Rangers fans, fantasy players and baseball tonight junkies like us. Pujols had to squeak in and I think he was pressing for awhile. We'll see which players swing gets hosed from this for the rest of the season. Gotta love the HR derby though. It last forever but it's fun seeing a player get on a roll.

Fielder's swing generates so much power. The ball just comes flying off his bat when he gets a hold of one. Watching the replays he just gets his full body into it and he's got plenty of body mass to give. I remember Rome saying the only PED's his dad Cecil took was a cheeseburger or two before the game.

Looking at Howard it seems like he barely has to put any effort behind the swing to knock it 450 feet. Fun to watch both guys get going.

Looks like Howard is taking care of himself and lost some weight.
